Fly into Sitka, fly out of Anchorage. An excellent way to spend 2 weeks in Alaska. Suggested by one of our customers from the 2004 season.

Day 0
Arrive in Sitka, Alaska today by air, overnight in Sitka.

Day 1
Sitka to Juneau 152 miles
The morning is free in Sitka to visit the recommended points of interest in Sitka including Totem Heritage Park, the Russian Church and the Sheldon Jackson Musem. Take the ferry to Juneau at mid-day. Overnight in Juneau.
Depart: 12:30 pm Arrive 5:30 pm

Day 2
The day is free in Juneau recommended points of interest include the Mt. Roberts Tram and a visit to Mendenhall Glacier. Overnight in Juneau.

Day 4
Juneau to Skagway 93 miles
Continue north aboard the fast ferry along the spectacular Lynn Canal to Skagway. This afternoon is free for seeing the many historical points of interest. Overnight in Skagway.

Day 5
Skagway to Whitehorse 122 miles
Board the White Pass & Yukon Railroad today for the trip over the White Pass to Fraser, BC. Connect with the motorcoach and continue into Whitehorse. Overnight in Whitehorse.
Depart: 8:00am Arrive: 1:00 pm

Day 6
Whitehorse to Beaver Creek 281 miles
Take Holland America Tours today north along the historic Alaska Highway. You will pass Kluane Lake, the largest lake in the Yukon Territory. Overnight in Beaver Creek.
Depart: 8:30 am Arrive: 4:30 pm

Day 7
Beaver Creek to Fairbanks 314 miles
Continue with Holland America Tours today you will see the trans-Alaska oil pipeline near Delta, Alaska, and travel through the scenic Tanana River Valley to Fairbanks. Overnight in Fairbanks.
Depart: 8:45am Arrive: 5:00pm

Day 8
The morning is free for seeing Fairbanks. The afternoon Arctic trip is book for the afternoon. Return to Fairbanks this evening. Overnight in Fairbanks.

Day 9
Fairbanks to Denali 124 miles
Take the Alaska Railroad south today. The scenery becomes spectacular near Denali National Park at the Nenana River Gorge. The afternoon is free. Overnight in Denali National Park.

Day 10
The day is free for taking the optional full day wildlife tour or shuttle bus into the park. Return to the park entrance this evening. Overnight in Denali Park.

Day 11
Denali to Anchorage 242 miles
The morning is free for taking in some of the points of interest near the Park Headquarters. Re-board the Alaska Railroad this afternoon for the trip south. This afternoon (weather permitting) views of Mt. McKinley are superb from the Susitna River Valley. Arrive in Anchorage this evening. Overnight in Anchorage.

Day 12
Pick up your rental car this morning in Anchorage at AVIS downtown. The day is free for seeing more of the Anchorage area. Recommended points of interest include the downtown Historical and Fine Arts Museum, the Anchorage bike and hiking trails and seeing the outlying areas of the Chugach Foothills. Overnight in Anchorage.

Day 13
Driving distance: 165 miles
Head south on the Seward Highway. Recommended points of interest along the way are Potter Marsh bird sanctuary, Girdwood and Mt. Alyeska Resort. Stop at Portage Glacier and US Forest Service visitor center. Arrive the Whittier Tunnel by late morning and drive through to Whittier. Take the 26 Glacier Cruise this afternoon, return to Whittier then return through the tunnel to Portage, head south approx 75 miles to Seward. Overnight in Seward.

Day 14
Driving distance: 125 miles
The day is free in the Seward area. Recommended is the optional trip to Kenai Fjords National Park. Return to Anchorage this evening and return your car at the Anchorage airport.
