Itinerary

Day 1 • Anchorage
An Explore Tours representative will meet you at the airport in Anchorage and review your travel documents with you. Transfer to your hotel before exploring Anchorage on your own. Overnight in Anchorage.

Day 2 • Anchorage/Seward

This morning enjoy a scenic train ride to Seward. In Seward take the Kenai Fjords National Park day cruise. Look for whales, sea lions, birds and more in this pristine Alaskan setting during the 6-hour cruise. Overnight in Seward.

Day 3 • Seward/Anchorage
Enjoy a leisurely morning or perhaps opt to visit the Alaska SeaLife Center, which is the world’s first marine science facility designed to combine a research mission with wildlife rehabilitation facilities and public education. Return to Anchorage by motorcoach mid-morning. Overnight in Anchorage.

Day 4 • Anchorage/Denali
Depart Anchorage today by train and enjoy an incredible journey north to Denali. Enjoy the scenery and be sure to have your camera ready for spectacular photographic opportunities. Arrive in Denali this afternoon. Overnight near the Denali National Park entrance.

Day 5 • Denali
Board a motorcoach for the Kantishna Wilderness Tour this morning. Travel through 95 miles of Denali National Park’s prime wildlife habitat to the Kantishna Roadhouse, located just past Wonder Lake on the banks of Moose Creek. Your trip includes refreshments en route, lunch served at the Roadhouse, and interpretive activities. Overnight near the Park entrance.

Day 6 • Denali/Talkeetna

This morning transfer by motorcoach to Talkeetna. The remainder of the day is yours free for optional activities such as Mt. McKinley flightseeing, fishing, or jetboat tours. Overnight in Talkeetna.

Day 7 • Talkeetna/Anchorage
Join Talkeetna River Guides for an optional 2-hour trip on the Talkeetna River. Enjoy spectacular scenery, local music, and wildlife viewing opportunities. Depart late afternoon by train back to Anchorage. Overnight in Anchorage.

Day 8 • Anchorage
Today you'll have an opportunity to stretch your "train legs" with souvenir shopping or optional sightseeing before your departure from Anchorage.
