Shongololo Express reintroduces two scheduled departures of the
Namibian Dune Express in 2011
First introduced in 1997 with a 16 day Cape Town-Windhoek itinerary, the Shongololo Dune Express is being re launched in 2011 with 2 scheduled departures. Now running Westbound from Johannesburg to Windhoek and Eastbound from Windhoek back to Johannesburg, the trip has been shortened to an 11 night, 12 day odyssey through this fascinating country of natural geological wonders. Having operated on a charter basis only for the past few years, Shongololo Express is delighted to be bringing back this popular tour, now open to everyone.
Although mid winter in the southern hemisphere, June is an ideal time to visit Namibia when temperatures are warmer than most European summer days, but not too hot for exploring the truly unique natural features of this old German territory.

| Starting with a west bound tour on 9 June, 2011 and returning with the east bound itinerary on 22 June 2011, both tours include visits to Sossuvlei, the shifting sand dunes, the coastal playgrounds of Swakopmund and Walvis Bay, Etosha National Park, The Fish River Canyon, Luderitz and its neighbouring ghost town of Kolmanskop, amongst other attractions.
