  Day 1 - Arrive In Panama
Transfer from Panama City to the Caribbean coast to board the Pacific Explorer. Along the way, visit the Miraflores Locks Visitor Center to learn the story of the canal.

Day 2 - Portobelo
Stroll a city discovered by Columbus and plundered by pirates. See a Kuna Indian dance. Visit an old Spanish fort. Tides permitting, explore a mangrove forest by inflatable excursion craft.

Day 3 - Panama Canal
Transit one of man’s most acclaimed engineering marvels – 50 miles that changed the world.†

Day 4 - Darién Jungle

Meet, dance, and perhaps even play a game of soccer with the Emberá villagers as they welcome you into their homes and hearts.

Day 5 and 6 - Coiba National Park
Swim through crystal-clear waters in one of the world’s top snorkeling destinations. Watch for 147 different species of birds. Open exploration for these two days may include snorkeling, kayaking, guided walks, or a visit to the prison ruins.

Day 7 - Golfo Dulce
At “Orchid House,” discover over 100 types of orchids, plus a wide variety of ornamental plants. Search for wildlife, including toucans, monkeys, and maybe even a snake or two.
Day 11 - Doka Coffee Tour, City Tour, Sarapigni
Tour the Doka Estate Coffee Plantation and enjoy a sampling. Tour San Jose, including the amazing Gold Museum and artisan workshops of Moravia.

Day 12 - Adventure or Culture
If you’re feeling adventurous, choose two activities from among horseback riding, a canopy zip line tour, a river float or rafting trip, or a nature hike and butterfly garden tour. Or spend the day learning the natural and cultural history of the Neotropics – including a visit to the Museum of Indigenous Cultures as well as to cacao and pineapple plantations.
Day 13 - Cultural Exploration, Arenal
Visit La Casona Rio Fortuna – a magnificent 100-year-old estate. Eat a tortilla that you’ve just watched being made. Enjoy a folk dance performance by school children and plant a tree to help their reforestation project.

Day 14 - Cano Negro, Arenal Hot Springs
Take a boat trip down the Rio Frio, looking for local birds as well as caimans, sloth, and monkeys. Soak in the relaxing waters of the Arenal Volcano Hot Springs. If weather and timing are right, marvel at nighttime lava eruptions.

Day 15 - San Jose
Head to the airport for your return flight home.
