I love travel and my list of must see destinations never gets any shorter, just longer! The more I learn, the more I want to see. Over the 35 years I have worked in this industry I have had the opportunity to work in airlines, outbound wholesaling, domestic wholesaling and retailing. The most rewarding job I have done, is owning Adventure Destinations where we get to show you just how affordable a destination is, even when it is perceived to be expensive. My passions are Africa & Canada. I had the amazing experience of managing luxury safari camps for 2½ years in Botswana and also the good fortune of meeting my husband. I will never lose the love of the open bush and African wildlife in a natural environment.

Other destinations I have been to include United Kingdom, Europe, Turkey, Egypt, Malawi, Kenya, Tanzania, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Namibia, South Africa, Canada, West Coast USA, New York, Alaska, Argentina, Brazil, Singapore, Malaysia, Borneo, Vietnam, China, Thailand, Hong Kong, India, Nepal, Hawaii and of course Australia. Awe-inspiring experiences include gorilla and chimp trekking in Uganda, small ship cruising in Alaska, bear viewing in northern British Columbia, polar bears and snorkelling with beluga whales in Churchill Canada and Northern Lights in Northern Canada – can’t wait for my next experience where ever it may be!

I have always had the desire to be in the travel industry, as I love to experience other peoples culture, taste the traditional unique foods and learn about the city’s history.  Destinations I have travelled to are Philippines, Singapore, Hong Kong, Vietnam, India, Brunei, Malaysia, Southern Africa, Zimbabwe, Botswana and Namibia.  I have also experienced a big ship cruise from Sydney to Darwin onboard the Royal Caribbean International, Radiance of the Seas.  Some of the things I will never forget are, experiencing a motorbike ride in Da Lat, overnighting on a traditional Vietnamese junk in Ha Long Bay, seeing the beautiful Taj Mahal, enduring a rainforest canopy walk at Ulu Temburong National Park, viewing the orang-utans at the Sepilok Orang Utan Rehabilitation Centre and the Borneo Sun Bears at the Conservation Centre, a helicopter flight over Victoria Falls, elephant crossing the Chobe River, a male elephant running after the vehicle whilst on safari in the Greater Kruger National Park, witnessing sea turtles laying eggs at Selingan Island and releasing of baby turtles back into the wild.

I have learnt a lot working at Adventure Destinations, and my knowledge continues to grow in selling the unique destinations we specialise in.

Before joining Adventure Destinations I spent 13 years with Qantas in reservations, retail, corporate, management and sales roles. This has given me a thorough understanding of both sides of the industry and I am proud to have been nominated for Representative of the Year. My travel over the years has included UK, Europe, USA, Hawaii, Bali, Singapore, Thailand, Fiji, China, Hong Kong, Solomon Islands and throughout Australia. I recently travelled to South Africa where I spent time in Cape Town , Kruger National Park and Johannesburg. This was a truly life changing experience. The food and wines in Cape Town, seeing the Big Five in Kruger and being charged by a Bull Elephant and the diversity and history in Johannesburg. My favourite destinations so far are the Greek Islands, Turkey and definitely South Africa.

I can’t wait for my next Adventure to Canada which I’m sure will be added to the list of my favourite destinations.

My love of travel began at the age of 16 and since then I have worked in travel agencies and tour operators, doing everything from reservations to foreign exchange. I have been lucky enough to have travelled to many different countries including Morocco, Italy, Malta, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Thailand, Borneo, Greece, Denmark, France, South Africa, Israel, Singapore, The USA and my favourite destination so far, Canada. My most memorable experiences so far have been zip lining between two islands in Borneo, ice skating on frozen lakes in Banff and flying in a seaplane from Victoria to Vancouver. The Rocky Mountaineer also rates most highly on my list of experiences.

Working at Adventure Destinations gives me the opportunity to really specialise in the region I love; Canada, Alaska and the USA. The thing I love about the travel industry is that you never stop learning. You will never know everything, even when specialising in one region, so researching and updating destination knowledge at all times is so important, as well as enjoyable.

My passion for travel began after a student exchange in Japan, not only was this an incredible experience and an opportunity to immerse myself in the Japanese culture, it also made me realize that there was a big, wide world waiting for me to explore! My career in the travel industry has given me the opportunity to work in corporate and retail agencies but the time I have spent working in wholesale has certainly allowed me to fulfill my ambition of seeing the world! I have been fortunate enough to visit many of the countries that Adventure Destinations specialise in, including South Africa, Zimbabwe, Botswana, Canada, USA, Borneo, Malaysia, Singapore, Maldives, India, Sri Lanka and Indonesia.

The most exciting thing about travel is immersing yourself in the destination; learning the culture, sampling the local cuisine and stepping out of your comfort zone to enhance your experience. Working with the amazing and diverse product at Adventure Destinations allows me to relive my passion for travelling through the pages of our travel brochures and continue to dream about where my next destination will be!

I have always loved traveling for as long as I can remember.  From the early family holidays squashed in the back of the family car, to my 6 month Rotary exchange program, I caught the travel bug early. Starting my career in retail travel I was lucky enough to see parts of the world with open eyes and youthful enthusiasm.  I have since been fortunate to work in Corporate and Wholesale travel which has further developed my knowledge within the industry.

Having travelled extensively across the globe, I have had many memorable experiences, often involving a combination of the local lifestyle, culture and food.  Some of the destinations I have visited include, West Coast Canada including the Majestic Rockies, Alaska’s Inside Passage via Small Ship Cruising, East & West Coast USA, Colorado Ski Fields, Hawaiian Islands, Bermuda, Thailand, Bali, Fiji, Vanuatu, Cook Islands, South Pacific Cruising, UK, Spain, Portugal, France, Italy, Monaco, Dubai, Hong Kong, Singapore, Penang, New Zealand as well as a lot of Australia. Now working at Adventure Destinations I have the opportunity to sell some of my favourite parts of the world in Canada, Alaska & America. Whether it’s sipping champagne under the Eiffel Tower, skiing the slopes of Aspen or experiencing baked cheesecake in San Sebastián, I believe there’s a perfect travel experience out there for all of us.

I have been a keen traveller since my initial trip to Bali and Thailand. This was followed shortly after by a quick whiz around Europe which turned into a holiday of 18 months working in London, Scotland and on a kibbutz in Israel, and included visiting Scandinavia, Greece and Yugoslavia. Highlights of my extensive travel later included travelling the length of Africa from “Cairo to The Cape”, and a trip from London to Kathmandu finishing with several months exploring India and trekking in Nepal.

I later spent several years living in England where some of the time was spent working in Bath, managing the accounts department for a budget tour operator. Most recently I have visited Vietnam, Italy, Japan, China and Laos. I quickly settled in to life running the accounts department at Adventure Destinations and I’m still dreaming of the many countries I will one day visit.

My travel journey began in 2001 working for Air New Zealand, and has worked for airlines, travel agencies and tour wholesalers. In the intervening 17 years I have found a passion for the ‘road less travelled’ and love to get lost in a new location whenever and wherever I travel.  I have so far explored West Coast and North American Rockies USA, Canada, Peru, Chile, Bolivia, Japan, Cambodia, Vietnam, Thailand, Dubai, Austria, France, Switzerland & the UK. 0020

Highlights for me include wandering the town of Hoi An after dark with the lanterns lighting my way along the river, standing at 3,800 above sea level on Lake Titicaca’s Sun Island with the spine of the Andes as a backdrop, getting lost in San Francisco’s Mission District with its classic taquerias, live music and bar, any moment through the Sacred Valley of Peru, from the bustling town of Cusco to the dizzying heights of Machu Picchu, dune bashing the desert in Dubai or the nightclub at the top of the gondola in Vail surrounded by winter snow.  New adventures on the horizon include further exploration into South America and the East Coast of the USA.

I enjoy the challenge of learning and expanding my knowledge and experience of our destinations and continuing to offer this knowledge to my clients.
